"Anslen Kiefer said “memory is my only homeland,” and I find myself moving through the world always looking for ways to keep, remember and preserve memories, people and experiences. In all of my searching, the most effective way I’ve found so far has been my camera."

-From my interview with Lomography

Nat Segebre (they/them)

Nat Segebre (they/them) is a queer Colombian-American photographer, darkroom printer, and writer based in Hollywood, Florida. Born and raised in South Florida, Nat holds a BFA in Photography and Imaging with a minor in Creative Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Their practice is guided by a documentary ethos that prioritizes precision and care to capture the quiet beauty of the everyday. Engaging a photographic form of magical realism, Nat creates images that reveal the extraordinary within ordinary life, transforming lived experience into visual poetry.

Working exclusively with film and traditional darkroom printing, Nat hand-crafts every print to preserve the tactile magic of the medium, viewing every step of the photographic process as a continuous motion toward the final print. Education and knowledge-sharing are central to their practice—they are dedicated to demystifying the complexities of analog photography through teaching, videos, and online resources, making color darkroom printing accessible to a new generation.

Through their growing body of work, Nat continues to explore the power of photographic observation as a means to honor the beauty of the world as it unfolds in front of them. Currently, they are working on getting their first book published—a 3 year love letter and sensory time capsule of Coney Island. They are also working on documenting county fairs, festivals and other places American gather across the country.

Nat is available for storytelling, portraits, travel assignments and more. They want to help editors tell their stories with precision and care.

Nat is most interested in documenting unseen communities
and people’s way of life, across the USA and abroad.
